Overview
Open since 1937, this small ski area just outside McCall is the only one in the area that offers night skiing. At 5,600 feet, this ski area doesn’t have chairlifts, but does have a classic T-bar. From the T-bar you have access to the alpine hill which has just over 400 feet of vertical terrain. For those who enjoy Nordic skiing, the new LIttle Bear Basin facility provides 30 kilometers of groomed trails. Despite its small size, Little Ski Hill has been home to over 7 local Olympic athletes including Corey Engen, who also used to be an instructor here.
Location
To get to Little Ski Hill, follow Highway 55 north out of McCall. Travel for 3 miles and you will reach the ski area located on the left side of the road.
Season/Hours
Alpine skiing at Little Ski Hill, McCall usually starts around the middle of December and ends early in March. Lifts operate Tuesday through Saturday; hours are Tuesday-Thursday 3:30 to 8:30, Friday 3:30 to 9:30, and Saturday 12:30 to 9:30. Nordic skiers can ski daily from dawn to dusk.
Mountain Services
Individual and group lessons are available on a reservation basis at the ski school. Little Ski Hill has also teamed up with Brundage to provide instructor training. Food services are also available at Little Ski Hill.
